“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” ~Thornton Wilder
As a child, Thanksgiving was always one of my least favorite holidays. There were no fireworks, costumes, presents to open or baskets of candy to dive into. My family didn’t specialize in the art of cornucopia making, and I doubt it would have made much of a difference if they had. This was the holiday we were supposed to feel grateful, but we weren’t actually given anything to appreciate.
